It is really a proud privilege to get the opportunity to lead a 53 years old club from the forefront. The year I joined Rotary the theme was “Lead the Way”. That very theme inspired me to join this great movement.

The RI theme for the year 2009-10 “THE FUTURE OF ROTARY IS IN YOUR HANDS”, you would agree, this is an eternal truth for any movement. The successes of any project dependent on the support that we get from the members and the society at large.

I have a very clear visions for my Rotary year: PROJECTS: PROJECTS & PROJECTS. I want to take Rotary out of the meeting rooms and reach out to the society. Planning is essential but execution is more important.

I strongly believe that Interact & Rotaract are the hands of a Rotary Club and RCCs are the delivery point. We are really proud to have a devoted group of Rotaractors and cooperative team of RCC members with us.

My dream is to have few projects where the family members of Sou’westers would also be present. We shall have lots of fellowship programs involving the spouses. Enhanced involvement of family is essential for the better future of Rotary.

I am happy to take charge of a club with a very strong a devoted Board of Directors and whose each and every committee is being chaired by a Rotarian who knows the subject in and out. I am confident that the Future of Rotary is in good hands.

Yours in Rotary

RI President’s Message

July 1st, 2009

It is my pleasure to congratulate you on your installation to the office of 2009–10 Rotary Club President.

You are here because, like me, you believe in the future of Rotary. You realize that it is essential for each of us as Rotarians, to do what is necessary to keep Rotary thriving. You recognize that the future of your club is vital to the future of Rotary continuing to operate in thirty-three thousand communities in nearly every corner of the globe. You understand that The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands.

We are all part of an organization with the capacity to do great deeds, the sense to do them wisely, and the strength of character to do them well. Building on these high standards, I encourage you to continue focusing on water, health and hunger, and literacy as the key areas of emphasis this year. That is why I am asking you to call on your core values of leadership and service as you work within your own club and district, in cooperation with other clubs and districts, and with the support of the Foundation to build a stronger future for Rotary.

As you perform your duties throughout the year, remember the responsibility for Rotary is yours. Take pride each day in the decisions you make and the actions you take, because these choices are determining the course of Rotary for us all. I can think of no place better to entrust the strength of this organization than to the members who have built it. Truly, The Future of Rotary is in Your Hands.

Sincerely,
John Kenny
President, 2009–10

Dear President Subhro,

Relevance of the Rotary and Rotarians in the modern selfish complex world will definitely depend on the dedication, conviction and desire to help others selflessly of each and every Rotarians and of course under the dynamic leadership of the president of respective clubs.

I am sure and optimistic that you will lead your club from the front.

Winning does not always mean being first, winning means you are doing better that you have done before and you will show that “THE FUTURE OF ROTARY IS IN YOUR HANDS” by executing and catering better services for the poor, downtrodden, needy and less-fortunate than you and me.

Rotarians have the backing of the organization over 1.2 million members. The individual’s effort in helping project takes shape can become huge global effort when the members join hands.

I call on all the Rotarians to join hands for the betterment of the society and for awareness of human rights.

I expect you to do something to make a mark whatever little it may be so that at the end of the day Rotary is advanced. Rotarians are respected.

Your’s– in-Rotary
